The city
Kifissia Flower Show
The Athens area's best-known flower event is the Kifissia Flower Show, held each spring in the Alsos, or grove, of Kifissia, a northern suburb on the Green Line metro. Organised by the Municipality of Kifissia, it brings local growers and nurseries together with stands of plants, workshops and children's activities; the 71st edition ran from 26 April to 18 May 2025. In central Athens, Agia Irini Square, just off Aiolou Street near Monastiraki, was historically the city's flower market, but most of its flower shops have given way to cafés and bars, and only one or two remain.
