Parades de flors de la Rambla (Rambla de les Flors)

Barcelona's flower sellers trade on the Rambla de Sant Josep, the stretch of La Rambla popularly called the Rambla de les Flors. There is evidence of flower vendors on the Rambla as early as the 13th century, and the first established stalls date from 1853. Those early stalls were trestles and wooden boards, set up and taken down every day, with stock kept in warehouses on nearby streets. Fixed stalls with proper services arrived in the 1960s and were completely refurbished in the 1990s. The number of stalls has fallen since the 19th and 20th centuries as the street has become more touristic; the Amics de la Rambla association counts eight today.
