Flowers in Mostar

Mostar has no notable dedicated flower market. The surrounding Herzegovina region has the stronger plant tradition. A 2019 study co-written at Mostar's Federal Agromediterranean Institute describes a long tradition of growing and collecting medicinal plants in Herzegovina, among them the immortelle (Helichrysum italicum), a Mediterranean plant that grows wild on the rocky grasslands of Bosnia and Herzegovina and is used in folk medicine.

  • 'The long tradition of growing and collecting the medicinal plants in Herzegovina' is cited for immortelle's use in folk medicine (Journal of Central European Agriculture, 2019).
  • Immortelle is native to the Mediterranean and prevalent on the rocky grasslands of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Journal of Central European Agriculture, 2019).
