Flowers in Munich
Munich has no dedicated public flower market. Flowers and plants are sold at the Viktualienmarkt, the city's central food market. King Max I. Joseph moved it in 1807 to its present site between the Heilig-Geist-Kirche and Frauenstraße, and more than 100 traders now sell there. Nearby Blumenstraße takes its name from a flower market first held in 1843. The city's flower wholesale market, the Blumengroßmarkt in Sendling, has about 32 vendors, including regional growers and cut-flower dealers, but serves trade buyers only and does not sell to private customers.
